Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
I am far from convinced about this modern day mantra of ''yes he looks crap, but let's give him a year' especially when talking about international, European footballers, ie, Kral and Vlasic. it's very generous. Also, I don't see the Fornals comparison as like for like, as he came from Spain with a decent pedigree.

As it stands now, I'd be surprised if Kral and Vlasic make it as first team regulars. Happy to be proved wrong,
and apologies if that offends anyone.

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
Vlasic has been really disappointing but he is young and hopefully will develop and turn into a real player.

I can’t help thinking if we had paid that money for Lingard jn the summer - it wouldn’t have necessarily been an investment for the future and yes a lot of money for someone in last year of his contract but I bet we would have 4-6 more points now which would really be consolidated in 4th place.

His extra energy, goals and pace would have given us a bit more and we would have a decent change on the bench.

A 4th place finish would have returned that investment more so than I think Vlasic will.

Hindsight and all that but I think we backed the wrong horse.

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
If you made this a few months ago everyone would have been saying to get rid of Benrahma and Fornals. I'm happy to be patient with Vlasic and Kral until they've been given time to settle and gel with the team like Fornals and Benrahma did.

Not worth judging Kral until he doesn't play next to noble. If this wasn't nobles last season her be getting way more scrutiny for the crap he serves up.

I doubt that Kral's is, but Areloa has an obligation to buy. Don't know how many appearances though.

Is Kral's loan an obligation to buy after a certain amount of appearances?

I should have said attacking midfielders/forwards/ jacknof all trades!

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
Moyes showed oriented with benrahma and he’s got there eventually, even if he’s gone off the boil in the last month or so. I expect the same with Vlasic - I’m not gonna judge the guy too harshly when he only ever plays in the second string matches with the unfit players or a group who haven’t played a game together before. I’d imagine he’ll get game time over the next month, along side bowen/lanzini/fornals/Antonio with soucek and rice in support as opposed to having yarmolenko doing nothing and not much going on from the midfield. He clearly has ability

I can’t see fredericks staying as he’s too injury prone - it’s a shame as moyes seemed to have got him to a decent level

Areola is an odd one - you could see last night how much more athletic he is than fab. He’s never played behind the first choice back 4 so it’s hard to know how good he could be. Maybe he’ll stay if him and fab switch roles next year.

I’d love someone to take yarmolenko in January - the full backs offered more of a threat than him last night. Maybe we can mug Newcastle off for him? If not, at least he’ll be off in the summer

Kral looked ok the first couple of times I saw him, positionally he was good last night but he looked like he hadn’t kicked a ball for a year whenever he tried to do anything. It’ll be interesting to see where he fits in over the next few months

I don’t really think we have anyone else we could sell. Arthur would be the other potential departure from those listed in the op, but moyes seems to like him even though he’s too awful defensively to play the back and has no end product further forward. But when we played a back 3 with cresswell, Arthur and fornals down the left, they linked up really well.

Even if lingard comes in in January, I don’t see us needing to move anyone else on to make way for him in the summer - he effectively just means we do t have to see yarmolenko again!

That keeper made a couple of saves look easy yesterday.

He’s a definite er, keeper

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
I hear what you're saying Trundle.

But, as good as Lanzini has been ( I like him as much as anyone else) he can't be relied on to stay fit and is also playing a lot deeper that the players you've mentioned.

If we bring someone in up front, who can at the very least start pulling defenses out of position like Antonio was doing ( Antonio is clearly out of sorts) then that can only be of benefit to all our midfielders.

Vlasic is yet to play with an inform Antonio for any considerable amount of time.

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
I like Kral, he played very well at Man Utd in the cup, though his passing last night was poor. I'd like to see more of him, and I'm sure we will over the coming months.

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
If we get Lingard in Jan, then there's most probably 5 players ahead of him (along with Benrahma, Fornals, Bowen and Lanzini) ahead of him in the pecking order to play attacking midfield.

Moyes seems to even prefer playing Masuaku and Yarmolenko ahead of him.

It's all very well saying give him time, give him minutes and he'll come good. From the little we've seen on him, he isn't improving.

Nevermind covid, gph.

His back is probably fucked from having to carry Noble!

Don't get me wrong, Noble can still pick a pass and is never lazy - but we all know you can't get away with him in a centre midfield pairing for too many games.

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
Two times in the 2nd half, on the right wing, vlasic was in a great position to use his stronger right foot to get a ball in or to shoot.

Both times he cut back on his left, much weaker, foot and fluffed the ball across, giving the defender the chance to get in a block and making it much harder.

Bit poor really.

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
There is a player in vlasic… you can see him try to work hard in the system. He just not up to speed yet.

I do enjoy watching his shoulder faint and drive past players move did it a few time yesterday.

Kral I thought was ok and tried to do some difficult balls. There was minimal movement in front him

Was Kral's Covid episode asymptomatic?

I ask, because no-one's cutting him any slack for it.

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
I actually think that Vlasic will come good.

I've seen enough (although, ideally, I'd liked to have seen more) to see that he cam be a very good player for us In the future.

The argument against him , as others have pointed out - was he actually really needed at that specific time - we really needed another striker instead - let's remedy that in January, eh.

Having said that, I see where Moyes was going with signing him I think he will eventually, fit the mode of being an interchangeable forward (he's a jack of all trades - master of none).

To be fair, all our forward players are like that. It works because at any given time, a couple of them will be scoring, so when players aren't scoring, someone is always picking up the slack for scoring the goals.

As others have said, Kral should be judged more when he's playing in our full strength line up - the beauty with Kral is, if it doesn't work out- we don't sign him. I think he'll come good - if he doesn't, not the end of the world.

As for Yarmolenko, if he had pace, he'd bang goals in left right and centre. Unfortunately, he's a poor mans Berbatov. He can score great goals like Berbatov, but doesn't have the level of skill to give himself the space to get as many chances.

What I can never understand is, is that Yarmolenko has the same physique as Ronaldo - but the pace of Noble. How the fuck does that happen.

I thought Areolas wages were high at PSG so have we agreed a wage deal already with him if he signs? If not and he still wants the rumoured hundred thousand plus a week I don't see it

The club already triggered the one-year extension clause in Ogbonna's contract when he got injured.

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
Yarmalenko 100%.

There is talk that Genoa want him as Schevchenko is their manager. Let's hope that is true.

Cant see Frederiks staying. Johnson has overtaken him and he is never fit.

I dont see Masuaku leaving. I know many dont rate him but he seems to be one of Moyes's favourites. He does create extra options. Just a liability in a back 4.

No way will Kral or Vlasic be going anywhere nor should they. They need another year atleast to prove themselves.

Ogbonna also has a serious injury. 33 and his contract is coming to an end.

Fabianski contract also running out.

Will they both get new deals?

Big bids will be coming in for Rice.

There could be a serious amount of activity next summer. Need to make sure we get some decent players in January. If we can win something or finish top 4 maybe they can tie rice down longterm and keep the vultures away.

Re: Who is out the door at the end of the season?
Yarmalenko looked like a teenager making his debut last night, and that's actually not fair on the others.

The sooner we move him on the better.

One trick pony and you only see that trick once in a blue moon.
